History
of TravelPlex.
In 1987, John Heimburger, Sr., working as a Mid-Market Sales
Manager was calling on
corporations relative to an industry other than
travel. During that time, he heard the rumblings of
dissatisfaction from organizations regarding corporate
travel services provided by a handful of agencies. In the great American entrepreneurial spirit, John
set out to build a company that would be different; that
would provide the quality of corporate travel services that
seemed so desperately needed.
Upon investigating his options, John decided to acquire an existing agency with a reputation rather than build his company from the ground up. John purchased a local franchised agency of the TravelPlex Company based out of Ohio. After purchasing the franchise, he began improvising until he’d created a company that was delivering service far exceeding that of the stagnant, mediocre corporate travel service that had only been available before 1988.
Later, the parent company went out of business
and John moved quickly to secure the TravelPlex name as his
own. John led by example
and is well respected for ethical business practices,
superior service, dedication to excellence, and valuing
loyalty, experience and hard work.
In 2004, TravelPlex was proudly selected by
American Express, the oldest and largest travel management
company in the world, to represent their business travel
services. Since that time, every year TravelPlex has
earned the coveted American Express Representative
Excellence Award. In 2008, we also became a member of the
Tzell Travel Group, the fourth largest travel management
company in the United States.
